Alex + Jessie // The Engagement

Alex and Jessie wanted to go to Georgetown for their engagement session. I was thrilled! I have been wanting to shoot in Georgetown for almost a year now. It’s a perfect place for photos. Not only does it have that old town feel, but it also had the trees changing, and the mountain air. Could you ask for anything more? Alex and Jessie are getting married next year, but wanted to capture the golden leaves. Georgetown, you did not disappoint. The fall atmosphere, combined with a couple that couldn’t keep their hands off each other, made for the perfect day, and perfect engagement session.

Alex and Jessie, congratulations! I am so excited to be photographing your wedding next year!

Lane // The Senior

Lane is a great family friend. My brother-in-law dated Lane through high school, and it was an honor for her to ask me if I could do her Senior photos. I have to say I LOVE doing senior photos. It’s fun, relaxed, we can take our time, and best of all, we get some amazing shots because of it.

Lane is going to be a senior at Overland High School in Aurora, CO. We had a blast shooting at Cherry Creek Park, which is one of my favorite place to photograph. After getting attacked by hundreds of mosquitoes, we went back to the cars and out of the woods. I was a little bummed because the sun was hiding behind clouds for most of the shoot, until right before we were going to leave. In a stroke of luck, the sun came out and added the backdrop glow that complimented Lane, and made the shoot go from “eh” to “OMG”.

Lane, congrats on your last year of high school. Remember to take in the good times. Soon you will be off to college, but for now enjoy your senior year!

Preston + Terra // The Maternity

Saint Joseph, MO is like a second home to me. I love going to that town and seeing the history, the parks, the little places I didn’t know where there. I met Terra through mutual friends and actually got to photograph her a while back as a brides maid. When she learned I was coming into town for a marathon photo week, she asked if I could do her maternity session.

Preston was lucky enough to come along with us, and it turned into more than a maternity, but more like an romantic engagement session.

Terra and Preston had little Maci July 11th, 2011. It was an honor to photograph this wonderful couple, and I pray blessings for them!

Aliana + Jeff // The Wedding (Jason+Gina Associate)

Jason and Gina are kind enough to hire me as one of their associate photographers. It’s an amazing job that allows me to photograph wedding photography in Denver for a great team. That being said, Aliana and Jeff were one of the associate gigs.

Held at the beautiful Downtown Denver Sheraton, Aliana and Jeff were an amazing couple to photograph. The setting, the dress, the day, and the wedding all made for a combination of a beautiful day. My favorite thing to hear from brides is “You know what you’re doing, just tell us where to go.” This was one of those weddings!

Aliana and Jeff had complete trust in my artistic vision for their pictures, and I have to say they were amazing models to work with. They made my job easy!

Deborah // The Portraits

A while back I put out an add on Facebook saying I needed models to learn my new Canon system. The amount of people that responded was overwhelming! I was so honored by response. I tried to respond to everyone and had limited the amount of portraits I was going to do. Deborah was one of the first to volunteer.

Deborah and I had a blast tooling around riverside park near downtown Denver. I had been there many times before and was determined to find different areas to shoot. Deborah was up for the walking and the challenge of finding new places. So we walked, and walked… and walked. Believe me it was worth the walking! The lighting was just perfect, the model was striking beautiful poses, and I was trying to still figure out my new camera system

At the end of the day, Deborah wanted some head shots as she is a music major at Colorado Christian University and hopes to move forward with her musical theatre career! Best of luck Deborah! It was an amazing honor to shoot with you!

Frank + Dolly // The Wedding

Frank and Dolly were referred to me by a mutual friend. Our first meeting was at the Starbucks at the REI, in downtown Denver (my favorite place to meet clients). From the second they walked in the door I was so happy to have them as clients!

The day of the wedding Dolly met me at the old church were she wanted to me married as a little girl. The backdrop to the church was a private lake with a small dock. The scene was perfect for this story book wedding. Frank showed up a bit later with the rowdy bunch of groomsmen who where all ready to witness Frank’s plunge into marriage with Dolly.

Dolly and Frank wanted to do a first look outside the church overlooking the lake. When Dolly stepped out the doors and approached Frank, I have to admit, I was a little choked up. Frank’s bride was ready to reveal herself to him as his wife. The moment was extremely touching, and one I know I will remember for years to come.

It’s always amazing to me to see the love two people share, it’s honestly why I shoot weddings. When you get around Frank and Dolly you can see just how much two people can love one another; selflessly and whole hearted giving one another to each other. Frank and Dolly – I always say that I am there to capture moments. As you look at your pictures remember the moments within your special day. Thank you both for sharing those moments with me!
